General Sheet Metal (GSM) is seeking an Estimator to join our Mechanical team. The selected candidate will be responsible for actively supporting the team on associated bidding activities, providing quantity take-offs, alternative pricing options, and value engineering. This role is also responsible for creating, cultivating, and maintaining positive relationships with customers, key vendors, and co-workers.
Qualified candidates will have:
GED/Diploma with a minimum 3+ years of sheet metal experience or minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred, but not required. A Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in related field such as Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent applicable degree.
Ability to estimate conceptually outside of using software, greater understanding of plans/specs, client ROM budgets and evaluation of cost savings, and knowledge of different types of systems.
Attention to detail with proven history of accuracy.
